New Westcott Neighborhood Website

Syracuse, NY— The Westcott Neighborhood Association (WNA) is pleased to announce the completion of a new Westcott neighborhood website, www.westcottsyr.com, which will go live on Wednesday, July 1st, 2015.  To celebrate this event, WNA is hosting a launch party at Recess Coffee, 110 Harvard Place, on July 1st at 6pm.

The website will be a tremendous resource for Westcott neighborhood residents, visitors, and business owners. In addition to neighborhood news and events, a business directory, and resource guides, the website will feature a blog called Westalk, where volunteers write articles to generate discussion about living in the neighborhood. Another feature will be digital versions of popular neighborhood walking tours led by world-renowned architectural historian Sam Gruber. The website has been designed to work across all platforms including tablets and smartphones.

Grant Johnson, president of the Westcott Neighborhood Association, stated: ”This website will serve as a crucial online gateway into the culture, commerce and historic fabric of the greater Westcott neighborhood, and will provide a dynamic portal for visitors as well as neighborhood residents to learn more about new and ongoing opportunities to connect with the community around them.”

This project is a culmination of years of work by neighborhood residents, led by Damian Vallelonga, WNA vice president and designer at Echo. In addition to the website, Echo collaborated with local illustrator/designer Kate Palermo to create a graphic identity for Westcott, which is visible at the website. Funding for this project was made possible through grants from UNSAAC (University Neighborhood Service Agreement Advisory Committee) and UNPA (University Neighborhood Preservation Association), as well as in-kind donations from Echo and Kate Palermo.
