Michael Vadala’s funk fusion band has been blowing UP! Since its formation in 2011, MVT has grown with an amazing rotating cast of incredible musicains, and is now a fixture of Nashville’s funk scene. Join us as they return to Alto Cinco’s #LateNight series Friday the 6th, on their Northeast tour!
MVT fuses classic jazz ideals of freedom & improvisation with the modern electronic, hip-hop, and R&B sounds of today. In November, 2014, they released their latest album, entitled “Long Drives, Late Nights”- a one-take live session, overdub-free. The album is available on Spotify, iTunes, and other online distribution locales.
MVT is inspired by many different artists including but not limited to: Robert Glasper, Snarky Puppy, Christian Scott, The Roots, Avishai Cohen Trio, A Tribe Called Quest, STS9 and Jurassic 5.These guys are excited to be back in Syracuse at one of their favorite spots – Alto Cinco-, this will be a part of a two week tour through the northeast!
