The house is especially notable for the use of cast block for the entire first floor. Huber began work as a commercial traveler (salesman) for Onondaga Pottery and worked for the company for decade, becoming head of the sales force. In 1953, he recounted his career at Onondaga Pottery and Syracuse China which is reported in the book Syracuse China by Cleota Reed and Stan Skoczen (pp 58 ff.).
