The building that is now called The Westcott Theater was originally constructed as a movie theater in 1919. Although it changed ownership throughout the years, it remained as a cinema house until it was bought in 2007 and renovated into a live music venue, opening its doors in 2008. Nestled in the historic Westcott neighborhood of Syracuse NY, The Westcott Theater has grown into the most prolific live music venue in Central New York. Drawing from a vast array of musical genres and styles, The Westcott Theater has hosted concerts from everyone from Skrillex and Bassnectar, to the Avett Brothers and Grace Potter.
Already a musical staple for Upstate New York residents and Syracuse University, Lemoyne College, and SUNY ESF students, The Westcott underwent a remodel in the summer of 2014, adding two additional bars, removable seating, lighting tresses, live sound functionality, and improving all facilities. The Westcott’s vast updates have provided a comfort level for audience members that matches the intensity and intimacy of the shows put on there. With the new all hardwood green room, lobby, and new marquee, The Westcott has returned with all the luster of its original construction.
