This is a fine example of a small two-story Craftsman-style house popularized in Gustav Stickley’s Craftsman Magazine and thereafter available in a variety of simple designs from various house kit manufacturers. Stickley lived on Columbus Avenue.
Architectural historian Dan Reiff has called these “Stickley Bungalows”and examples are plentiful in the Westcott neighborhood. Notable features are especially the front porch, and the wide steeply sloping roof from which a large dormer rises provided what is essentially a full second story facade.
