Second Saturday Series Concert: The Honky Tonk Hindooz

Hosted by: Westcott Community Center

The Honky Tonk Hindooz hail from high in the Himalachian Mountains that separate Nepal from Tennessee.
Comprised of upright bass, accordian, and guitar, the Hindooz play an eclectic blend of psychedelic garage country and weirdo rock and roll oldies from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.They specialize in original, countrified arrangements of popular songs by artists as diverse as Johnny Cash, The Kinks, Tom Waits, Buddy Holly, and The Clash, all in a jangly, swaggerly Roots-Americana stew.

The Hindooz descend from yonder mountain to keep alive the Good Word of Psychedelic Honky Tonk Country and Rock ‘N’ Roll. In this age of auto-tune and American Idol, the Hindooz are tenaciously dedicated to playing real, raw music with their signature swagger and hillbilly hypnotism.

The Honky Tonk Hindooz are Theresa Walsh, Taylor Price, and Terry Quill. Their dedication to raw, live music is evident in the chances they take onstage, and the scarcity of recordings of the group. They believe in living and performing “in the moment.” If you never catch a show, you may never experience the fun, euphoric spirit of The Honky Tonk Hindooz!
