A homegrown entity formed in Syracuse, the Ruddy Well Band has emerged as one of Central New York’s premier performing string bands. A finely-crafted combination of dynamic rhythms, tight harmonies, and mindful lyrics – the five acoustic instrumentalists bring their audience fun, foot-stomping Americana.
The Ruddy Well Band released their self-produced album, Little Blue Marble in 2011. At Subcat Studios in 2013, they produced their second album, Change of Course, which won a 2014 Sammy Award for Best Americana Album.
Some noted performances include the Nelson Odeon, Taste of Syracuse, and the Rochester Fringe Festival. The Ruddy Well Band was the winner of the 2014 Grassroots Festival Band Contest, received a second Sammy in 2014 for People’s Choice for Best Band, and has been featured on several Syracuse and Rochester radio shows.
