SUMMARY:Pigeons Playing Ping Pong / The Infamous Stringdusters / Melt
DESCRIPTION:Pigeons Playing Ping Pong\, The Infamous Stringdusters\, and Melt are coming to The Westcott Theater in Syracuse\, NY on SATURDAY May 31st\, 2025!\nDoors at 1PM | Show at 3PM\nAbout Pigeons Playing Ping Pong:If you ever wondered what “seizing the moment” sounds like personified\, look no further than Pigeons Playing Ping Pong\, the four-piece musical powerhouse known for their head-turning high-energy psychedelic funk shows. Infectious energy is an understatement.\nThe Maryland quartet — “Scrambled Greg” Ormont [vocals\, guitar]\, Jeremy Schon [guitar\, vocals]\, Ben [bass\, vocals]\, and Alex “Gator” Petropulos [drums\, vocals]—not only squeezes the juice out of every second\, but they harness life’s energy within their hypnotic hybrid of funk\, rock and psychedelic groove.\nWith a devout audience\, affectionately known as “The Flock\,” and a trail of sold-out tours behind them\, the band takes a major step forward once again on their seventh full-length offering\, Day In Time\, released on April 26\, 2024.\n“This album is a snapshot of our band as a group and as individuals\,” notes Greg. “The title serves as a reminder that life moves fast\, so we better make the most of each day\, make each second count. 15 years as a band have flown by. We started in college and now we’re all growing up\, most of us have even become dads recently\, so we’re evolving both personally and musically\, and we’re happily embracing those changes. That said\, we still feel like kids when we’re getting wild on stage and know we always will.”\nThis forward motion has only accelerated over the years for Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. Renowned as a live tour de force\, PPPP has tallied tens of millions of streams and performed to impassioned crowds everywhere from Red Rocks Amphitheatre and The Capitol Theatre to festivals such as Bonnaroo\, Electric Forest\, Jam Cruise\, and more. Most recently\, they earned widespread acclaim for 2022’s Perspective\, a 12-track “funk-filled odyssey” as described by Relix. However\, Day In Time saw them realize another level of cohesion in the studio.\n“This album is the most cohesive group of songs we’ve ever had in the studio\,” says Jeremy. “On our previous albums\, there were usually older songs mixed in with our newer material. However\, all the tracks on ‘Day In Time’ really represent our current writing style and where we are as a band today.”\nA bevy of friends also joined the party. On the boisterous “Let The Boogie Out\,” Here Come The Mummies’ horn section added healthy doses of funk and “truly decided to let the boogie out\,” according to Jeremy. Ben “Smiley” Silverstein (The Main Squeeze; Smile High) shines on the titular “Day In Time” with a raucous keyboard solo\, while keyboardists Joey Porter (The Motet) and Alric “A.C.” Carter (Tauk) join forces on the soulful “Overtime.” Carter also adds rich depth with keys on “Beneath The Surface\,” while Jon O’Hallaron (Chalk Dinosaur) infuses rhythmic keys and electronic flavor on the instrumental standout\, “Skinner.” Another first\, all four members of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong take inspired solos on the same record.\n“With this being our seventh full-length album\, we’re more comfortable in the studio than ever\, which has given us the freedom to take some bigger swings reminiscent of our live shows.” notes Greg.\nIn the end\, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are certainly making the most of the moment\, and they might just inspire you to do the same.\nAbout The Infamous Stringdusters:\nThe Infamous Stringdusters are a celebrated American progressive bluegrass band known for their virtuosic musicianship\, innovative arrangements\, and genre-blending style. The GRAMMY® Award-winning Americana quintet—Andy Falco [guitar]\, Chris Pandolfi [banjo]\, Andy Hall [dobro]\, Jeremy Garrett [fiddle]\, and Travis Book [double bass]—have musical influences that truly run the gamut\, but their common denominator is certainly bluegrass— the sound that has in essence defined the course of their career.\nThe Infamous Stringdusters stand out as the rare group who can team up with contemporary artists on late night television one night and headline the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre the next\, and have recently emerged as proprietors behind their newly found independent record label\, Americana Vibes.\nManifesting an actual flock of impassioned fandom\, much like those who paved the road before them\, the band have attracted a faithful international audience that continues to grow. Moreover\, their powerful music and performances paved the way for a GRAMMY® Award win in the category of “Best Bluegrass Album” for 2017’s Laws of Gravity\, and a number of International Bluegrass Music Awards (IBMA) in a variety of categories. Known for their energetic live shows and improvisational prowess\, The Infamous Stringdusters continue to push the boundaries of bluegrass while honoring its roots\, captivating audiences across the country and around the world.\nAbout Melt:Pulsing with the energy of their hometown\, New York City\, If There’s a Heaven (2024) is the debut album from indie band Melt. Melt is simultaneously at their most airtight and freewheeling\, evoking the raw\, communal spirit of Fleetwood Mac as much as the modern\, danceable hooks of MUNA. Recorded live to tape with producer Sam Evian (Big Thief)\, the eleven tracks span feel-good\, existential pop (“Plant the Garden”)\, classic love ballads (“Your Name”)\, and lush\, soulful rockers (“Heaven”). Melt’s debut is a joyous\, timeless soundtrack for growing up and finding community.\nMelt formed in 2017 and saw early success with their first single\, “Sour Candy.” Quickly spreading out across the Northeast for college\, the band reunited to tour over weekends and cut their teeth playing everywhere they could\, from packed basements to sold-out theaters across the country. Called “one groovy super-organism” by NPR\, the band’s intuitive connection as players and unique combination of sounds has found them supporting a wide array of artists such as Grouplove\, Lawrence\, and Greensky Bluegrass.\nMore than seven years since their first show\, Melt has refined their ecstatic live set and cemented their status as a band to watch. Catch them on tour this Spring across North America.

SUMMARY:95X Presents: Jakobs Castle
DESCRIPTION:Jakobs Castle (featuring Jakob Nowell of Sublime) brings their tour to The Westcott Theater in Syracuse\, NY on June 5th!\n95X Presents:BVRNT/TOURJakobs Castlew/s/g Jesse James Pariah & Strange Case\nJakobs CastleEnter: The CastleEPITAPH RECORDS\nIf Jakobs Castle were a physical place\, it would exist somewhere in the present that’s also rooted in history—and that’s exactly how Jakob Nowell approached the 14 songs that make up Enter: The Castle. As the son of Sublime’s legendary frontman Bradley Nowell\, there is no denying that Jakob is influenced by his father’s music and legacy. However Jakobs Castle is anything but a nostalgic rehash. Instead these songs are remarkably cutting-edge while still retaining the keen sense of melody that endeared his father’s music to millions of people all over the world. Nowell has described the project as “mixing California’s past with the fresh mystery of internet underground culture” and that’s a good place to start. But it’s only the tip of the proverbial iceberg when it comes to the sonic and emotional depth of this varied collection of songs.\n\n\nThe 28-year-old Nowell got his start playing in the popular Southern California rock act LAW\, however Jakobs Castle is an unfiltered version of his own musical identity which he created alongside producer and co-collaborator Jon Joseph. “I think that Jon was the guy who really helped me discover my sound because I would show him the synth sounds I wanted or what I liked for vocal effects and it became this affected cyber ska weirdness\,” Nowell explains. Enter: The Castle may not feature palm-muted guitars or pick slides but in many ways it is a modern interpretation of punk\, in the same way that Sublime organically incorporated elements of reggae and pop into their sound in the nineties. “I see the spirit of punk to be alive in what people today call hyper pop or bedroom pop\, even if it’s not always aggressive\,” Nowell explains. “I find that spirit of DIY ingenuity and trying to challenge social norms to be present in those types of artists today.”\n\n\nThis spirit is evident in the breezy single “Time Traveler\,” which features bright guitars\, electronic flourishes and vocals that illustrate Nowell’s impressive range. “One of the first writing sessions I did for this album was with Tim Armstrong (Rancid\, Operation Ivy) and he already had this song\, it just didn’t have any verses yet\,” Nowell explains. “It was a full band\, drums and guitar\, and it was a slow rocksteady song with that chorus that’s so soulful.” Inspired by the hook\, Nowell wrote the verses for the songs on the spot in ten minutes and the song was born. But it wasn’t finished. Next\, Nowell took the song to Joseph to add the modern flourishes to make it sound like Jakobs Castle via subtle pitch shifting and synth bass. “It has both of those elements of a soulful\, catchy rocksteady song and new-age inspired pop\,” he adds.\n\n\nThat dichotomy between punk’s past and pop’s future lies at the core of all of these songs. From the ska-inspired\, laid-back groove of the opener “Supervillian” to the radio-friendly electro-pop of “Lights Out\,” the album references Nowell’s pedigree while keeping his eyes toward the future—and he believes that now is the perfect cultural moment for an album like Enter: The Castle. “I feel like there are so many bands today who are trying new things and experimenting with new sounds the way people did in the nineties in the sense that I think a lot of bands in that era were a response to the artificialness in music\,” Nowell explains. He sees the latest generation of bands like Jakobs Castle and 100 Gecs as being the next generation of acts to carry on that tradition of creativity\, while still building on musical motifs that are universal to listeners across genres.\n\n\n“I wanted to call this project Jakobs Castle because even though Jon and I played all the instruments on these songs\, I think of it as a big collective that involves a lot of people\,” Nowell explains. “I’m at the helm of it but it’s not just me; everyone who comes out to see me or writes with me or participates in any way is part of the Castle.” This isn’t to say that the project doesn’t have a sense of humor and there is definitely an element of irony present on the album\, but it comes from a place of confidence and self-awareness that Nowell has cultivated over the course of his musical career. Signing to Epitaph Records is also a full circle moment for a musician who was born into the thriving California punk scene\, yet decided to forge his own musical destiny in a way that’s relevant to today’s generation of listeners. “The tagline I’ve always had for this project is beach meets internet\,” Nowell summarizes. Once you swim in these songs for a while\, that description makes perfect sense.

SUMMARY:Afroman
DESCRIPTION:Afroman performs LIVE at The Westcott Theater on June 6th\, 2025!\nMeet & Greet Packages Available!\nDoors 7PM | Show 8PM\nAfroman’s musical career began in the eighth grade when he started recording homemade songs and selling them to his classmates. He once recalled\, “The first tape I made was about my eighth-grade teacher. She got me kicked out of school for sagging my pants\, which was a big deal back then. So I wrote this song about her\, and it sold about 400 copies—it was selling to teachers\, students\, just about everybody. And I realized that\, even though I wasn’t at school\, my song was at school\, so in a way\, I was still there. All these people would come by my house just to give me comments about how cool they thought the song was.”\nForeman also performed in his church at a young age\, playing both the drums and guitar.\nIn 1998\, Afroman released his first album\, My Fro-losophy\, and later relocated to Hattiesburg\, Mississippi\, where he met drummer Jody Stallone\, keyboardist/bassist Darrell Havard\, and producer Tim Ramenofsky (a.k.a. Headfridge). Ramenofsky produced and released Afroman’s album Because I Got High in 2000 on T-Bones Records. The album was distributed primarily through concerts and the file-sharing service Napster before its title track was played on The Howard Stern Show.\nAfroman was inspired to write the song’s lyrical content by his unwillingness to clean his room\, and he ran with the idea of everyday tasks being derailed by drug use. In late 2001\, the song became a hit and was featured in the films Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back\, The Perfect Score\, and Disturbia later in the 2000s. Because I Got High was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance in 2002.\nAfter the single’s success\, Afroman joined the lineup of Cypress Hill’s fall festival\, Smoke Out\, alongside the Deftones\, Method Man\, and others. Following this\, Universal Records signed Afroman to a six-album deal and released The Good Times in 2001. The album was a compilation of Afroman’s first two albums along with some new tracks.\nIn 2004\, Afroman started releasing his music independently\, primarily through the Internet. That same year\, he recorded Jobe Bells\, which satirized traditional Christmas songs.\nAfroman was part of the 2010 Gathering of the Juggalos lineup.\nIn October 2014\, he released a remix of his hit song Because I Got High to highlight the usefulness of marijuana as part of the movement to legalize its sale across the United States.\nIn January 2021\, Afroman signed with the revolutionary record label Cosmic Wire\, owned and operated by artist/producer BLAZAR (Jerad Finck) and growth hacking expert BJ Klock. Their first single\, WHOLEthing\, was released as a precursor to his upcoming album.

SUMMARY:Leftover Salmon / Keller Williams' Grateful Grass - Jerry Birthday Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Westcott Presents: Leftover Salmon & Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass\nFriday August 1st\, 2025 | The Westcott Theater | Syracuse\, NY\nDoors: 6:30PM | Show: 7:30PM\nLeftover Salmon & Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass head to LaFayette\, NY on August 1st to celebrate Jerry Garcia’s birthday—set against the breathtaking backdrop of Central New York’s premier outdoor concert destination\, Wonderland Forest.\nBoth bands will be performing the music of the Grateful Dead!\nAbout Leftover Salmon:Few bands stick around for thirty years. Even fewer bands leave a legacy during that time that marks them as a truly special\, once-in-lifetime type band. And no band has done all that and had as much fun as Leftover Salmon.\nSince their earliest days as a forward thinking\, progressive bluegrass band who had the guts to add drums to the mix and who was unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever evolving sound\, to their role as a pioneer of the modern jamband scene\, to their current status as elder-statesmen of the scene who cast a huge influential shadow over every festival they play\, Leftover Salmon has been a crucial link in keeping alive the traditional music of the past while at the same time pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly\, unique style.\nThe band now features a lineup that has been together longer than any other in Salmon history and is one of the strongest the legendary band has ever assembled. Built around the core of founding members Drew Emmitt and Vince Herman\, the band is now powered by banjo-wiz Andy Thorn and driven by the steady rhythm section of bassist Greg Garrison\, drummer Alwyn Robinson\, and dobro player & keyboardist Jay Starling.\nThe current lineup is continuing the long\, storied history of Salmon which found them first emerging from the progressive bluegrass world and coming of age as one the original jam bands\, before rising to become architects of what has become known as Jamgrass and helping to create a landscape where bands schooled in the traditional rules of bluegrass can break free of those bonds through nontraditional instrumentation and an innate ability to push songs in new psychedelic directions live.\nSalmon is a band who for more than thirty years has never stood still; they are constantly changing\, evolving\, and inspiring. If someone wanted to understand what Americana music is they could do no better than to go to a Leftover Salmon show\, where they effortlessly glide from a bluegrass number born on the front porch\, to the down-and-dirty Cajun swamps with a stop on Bourbon Street in New Orleans\, to the hallowed halls of the Ryman in Nashville\, before firing one up in the mountains of Colorado.\n“Loose interpretations of Grateful Dead songs done in a bluegrass style. Take my fascination with Grateful Dead songs and mix it together with my love of psychedelic improvisational bluegrass music and out burps this project.\nIf you like your Grateful Dead songs performed in their original way\, or if you prefer traditional bluegrass\, this is not the project for you. If you like singing along to Dead songs in that song’s normal tempo but dancing double time to the music\, this is definitely your jam. A lot of people seem to dig it and I dig them for that.”\nKeller’s Grateful Grass delivers anything-but-traditional bluegrass versions of Grateful Dead favorites. Grateful Grass often times has a rotating lineup and so far\, has included collaborations with The Keels\, Keith Moseley (SCI)\, Jeff Austin (Yonder Mountain String Band)\, Michael Kang (SCI)\, Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green\, Mark Benevento Trio) Bill Nershi (SCI)\, Allie Kral\, Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon)\, Sam Grisman\, Love Canon\, The Infamous Stringdusters and the Hillbenders.\nIn 2008\, the original Grateful Grass members (Keller\, Jeff Austin and Keith Moseley) recorded a live performance at The Fillmore in Denver\, CO. 100% of the proceeds from REX (Live at the Fillmore) went to benefit The Rex Foundation\, the charitable non-profit started by the Grateful Dead.\nIn 2010 Grateful Grass took the stage at Delfest for the first live appearance since 2008. In 2013\, Grateful Grass ft. Keller\, Jeff Austin\, Keith Moseley and Michael Kang reunited to benefit the Rex Foundation once again at The Fillmore in San Francisco for the event\, Nightfall of Diamonds. Once again this performance was recorded and DOS was released in 2014. All proceeds continue to benefit the Rex Foundation.\n“Different collaborations of Grateful Grass will pop up from time to time as playing this music this way is such a blast that it probably should be illegal.” — Kw

SUMMARY:Bunt
DESCRIPTION:BUNT is bringing his In The GREATER Round Tour to the Westcott Theater in Syracuse\, NY on September 11th!\nDoors 7PM | Show 8PM\nBUNT.’s story isn’t one of overnight success—it’s a testament to resilience\, dedication\, and an unshakable belief in his craft. For over a decade\, he worked in the background\, shaping his sound without major recognition.\nEight years into his journey\, everything changed. In January 2023\, his track Clouds became a global phenomenon\, proving that persistence pays off—even when the odds are stacked against you.\nHis path to success was anything but conventional. After finishing high school\, BUNT. trained at a car company and explored advertising work\, but music was always his true calling. A video shoot opportunity in the U.S. became a turning point—he left his job\, moved stateside\, and went all in.\nHe contributed productions for legendary artists like Avicii and toured alongside Gryffin. But just as things were gaining momentum\, the pandemic forced him back to Germany. With touring income gone and an uncertain future ahead\, BUNT. worked three jobs to support himself—yet even in the toughest moments\, he never stopped making music. Unknowingly\, he was crafting the foundation for what would soon be known as Stutter House.\nThen came Clouds. What started as a snippet on TikTok in December 2022 exploded into a movement. By its official release in January 2023\, the track had already amassed 50 million impressions\, debuting at #15 on the Billboard Hot Electronic Songs Chart.\nSince then\, it has garnered over 275 million streams\, cementing BUNT. as one of dance music’s most exciting new forces.\nBUNT. isn’t just redefining electronic music in the studio—he’s changing the way it’s performed. Breaking the traditional DJ mold\, he plays IN THE ROUND\, removing barriers and immersing himself fully with his audience.\nHis shows aren’t just events; they’re communal experiences—raw\, intimate\, and electric. From pop-up gigs in a car wash and a luchador arena in Mexico City to a London mash-and-pie shop and a NYC barbershop\, he’s proving that dance music doesn’t need a club to thrive—it belongs everywhere.\nSince Clouds’ release\, BUNT. has played over 200 shows across the U.S.\, Canada\, Australia\, and Europe\, selling over 50\,000 tickets along the way. In 2025\, he announced his first stadium show at Velódromo Olímpico in Mexico City\, which sold out within days—forcing an expansion in capacity due to overwhelming demand.\nHis innovative approach to both sound and performance has earned him collaborations with Ellie Goulding\, Sam Tompkins\, Elley Duhé\, and Tiësto\, while Spotify named him one of their 10 Dance Artists to Watch\, alongside Mochakk\, Uncle Waffles\, and Sammy Virji.

SUMMARY:Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country
DESCRIPTION:Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country performs LIVE at The Westcott Theater in Syracuse\, NY on September 23rd!\nDoors 7PM | Show 8PM\nTickets On-Sale Friday 6/27 @ 10AM EST\nThere are a lot of musical influences and sources that Daniel Donato has drawn on during his career and that inform his latest album\, Horizon (Retrace Music)\, his second all-original album. But within those\, Donato has carved out a unique and individualized spot for himself\, one that speaks to the deep American music heritage that inspires him — and that he’s pushing towards the future with inspired\, intentional vigor.\nHe calls it Cosmic Country\, a moniker that’s both self-descriptive and a statement of purpose. It’s an organic rock band aesthetic with plenty of roadhouse twang; a showcase for Donato’s instrumental virtuosity and facility for melodically infectious songcraft. Bridging Nashville and the Great West\, Kentucky and mid-60s northern California\, tie-dye and plaid\, it’s a world of his own\, and a wide world of musical adventure at that.\nWhile growing up in Nashville his his father\, who turned his young son on to music of all genres\, suggested the fledgling and industriously minded (even at just 14) artist start busking in Nashville’s lower Broadway area and outside concerts\, for eight hours at a time on the weekends. One night\, the two happened by Robert’s Western World where legendary honky-tonk local mainstay the Don Kelly Band were performing. Donato eventually became a member of the band\, playing four hours a night at Robert’s (464 shows in total).\nHorizons is the follow up to 2023’s Reflector\, which received critical acclaim from a wide range of press\, including No Depression\, Glide Magazine\, Magnet Magazine\, and more. Donato the subject of features in Rolling Stone\, UPROXX\, Garden & Gun and Relix. Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country made their network television debut on CBS Saturday Morning and appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s #LateShowMeMusic online series.\nThe whole package of player\, singer\, writer and band leader was in place. Three albums in\, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country\, featuring Nathan “Sugarlegg” Aronowitz (keyboards/guitars/vocals)\, Will “Mustang” McGee (bass/vocals) and Will “Bronco” Clark (drums\, percussion/vocals) are selling out venues throughout the country and bringing their brand of Cosmic Country to an ever growing\, passionate fanbase

SUMMARY:Nicotine Dolls
DESCRIPTION:Nicotine Dolls – an Attempt at Romanticw/s/g Wic Whitney\nNicotine Dolls will perform LIVE at The Westcott Theater on September 25th\, 2025!\nDoors @ 7PM | Show @ 8PM\nPre-Sale Starts 4/2 @ 10AM EST!\nNicotine Dolls make the kind of music you can’t hide from. The storytelling is front-and-center\, beckoning your attention like a dusty old novel you can’t put down until the last page. The vocals are gritty and honest\, holding nothing back in fits of joy\, regret\, and sadness—similar to a phone call from one of your best friends at 3 AM. The instrumentation is equally punchy and nuanced\, grafting rafter-reaching hooks on top of rich soundscapes. The moment the New York alternative quartet—Sam Cieri [vocals]\, John Hays [guitar]\, John Merritt [bass]\, and Abel Tabares [drums]—plug in\, it’s as if a rush of collective emotion floods through the speakers.\nNicotine Dolls officially emerged in 2019 at the crossroads between its members’ respective paths. As the story goes\, Sam met John Hays in 2015 during a Broadway tour.“I ended up there because I was getting evicted from my apartment\, and my friend told me to try musical theater since you get a consistent paycheck\,” he recalls. They instantly became best friends. By this time\, Sam’s journey had already twisted and turned from “leaving high school to be a musician\, living in motels\, playing Las Vegas\, going to South Florida\, and amassing all of these crazy-ass stories.” Nevertheless\, his newfound musical bond with Hays eventually attracted Merritt and Abel to the fold.\nThe guys gained traction with tracks like “What Makes You Sad”\, which has received more than 13 million Spotify streams. Their cover of Tina Turner’s iconic “The Best” has surpassed 12 million streams. Collectively\, their music to date is nearing 50 million streams on Spotify alone. Impressively\, they’ve attracted over 1.7 million followers on TikTok and nearly 900k on Instagram as well.\nNicotine Dolls have released a series of self-penned and produced singles and EPs\, including the 2024 live EP\, Nicotine Dolls on Audiotree Live. After signing with Nettwerk Music Group\, the band has been hailed by SPIN for their “vulnerability and determination\,” calling Cieri a “charismatic\, gravelly-throated powerhouse with the rasp of Bruce Springsteen and the emotion of Lewis Capaldi.”\nNicotine Dolls’ debut full-length album\, set for early 2025\, is already gaining serious attention.“This album has been my own internal attempt to be OK with wanting to love\, and be loved in return\,” Cieri explains. “I wanted to be dumb and nervous and brave and scared and everything that you drown in when someone looks at you in that way that derails the whole plan you had for your life. I live alone with my dog and I’m not saying I don’t adore that life\, because I do (my dog is my sweet big boy Indiana). But I miss laughing with someone in the kitchen or falling asleep watching trashy TV. I pride myself on my independence\, but I think I made this record as a way to admit to myself that having someone there… would be nice.”
