The two-story side-gable Dutch Colonial Revival-style residence has a gambrel roof. By the mid-1920s the Colonial Revival style had become the most popular in the United States, especially among the white Protestant professional middle class. Excellent examples of the style with its simply elegant and broadly expansive houses can be found all along Scottholm Boulevard. Smaller types of colonial houses on narrower lots are prevalent on many of the streets leading to Meadowbrook, such as Crawford and Randall.
