The Old Neighborhood Part II
Stop #04
108 Avondale Place
- Built: 1890s
- Architect: Unknown
This is an interesting frame house where the original clapboard can still be seen beneath later asbestos shingles. The house has a truncated tower linking it to the late 19th-century Queen Anne style. Some of the original windows survive in the tower and in the attic dormer. The front porch is a recent addition, probably replacing an earlier version. houses with this type of vestigial tower can also be seen at #708 and #714 South Beech St.
