West of Westcott
Stop #10
700 Euclid Avenue / L. P. Kellogg House
- Built: 1912
- Architect: Ward Wellington Ward
This house is the most substantial of four houses designed by Arts & Crafts architect Ward Wellington Ward for this stretch of Lancaster Avenue between 1910 and 1912. Ward included a photo of this house, seen here, in a promotional book about his work published some time before 1920.
The house handsomely occupies it corner site. Unfortunately, some of its exterior detailing has been muddled in recent years, including the application of vinyl siding on the lower level and the removal of the parapet over the front porch.
