The Old Neighborhood Part I
Stop #15
430 Westcott Street
- Built: ca. 1900
- Architect: Unknown
This “triple-decker” is one of only a small number in the neighborhood of large multi-unit houses with three stacked levels of apartments, represented by three a three-level front porch. In some cities in the Northeast triple-deckers were common housing for workers and were located along streetcar lines. Even in Syracuse this was the case. There are at four examples of the type on Westcott Street where the trolley ran, between East Genesee Street and Euclid Ave.
