This house is very similar to one built in 1910 at 726 Lancaster Avenue by local architect Justus Moak Scrafford, an architecture professor at SU who studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts (School of Fine Arts) in Paris. In both houses the front porch has wide, fluted Doric columns, beneath a steeply sloping roof from which protrudes a wide dormer with two windows. 156 Westminster has been remodeled with new windows and siding, but originally there may have been a small porch or balcony outside the dormer.
