The Old Neighborhood Part II
Stop #22
101 Greenwood Place
- Built: Ca. 1920
- Architect: Unknown
A fine example of a Colonial Revival house. Because it sits on a corner lot it doesn’t face the site limitations of so many houses like this through the neighborhood where the long side of the structure – meant to be the facade – is hidden deep in the lot. Here, the builders were able to take advantage of the site to make the most of two facades. On Bristol is the porch, so similar to others on the street and on houses like this on Cambridge and Allen Streets. On Greenwood Place, however, the full 2-story expansive facade with central entry is publicly visible.
