This small two-story house is a simple example of the compact form and irregular profile of a small Arts and Crafts style cottage. The deep eaves of the roof are echoed in the strong horizontal of the front porch shed roof, which also links this house to the Prairie style. The treatment of the roof, including the clipped gable on the south projection, recalls the work of Ward Wellington Ward at 464 Allen Street and elsewhere.
