This tri-gabled ell variation house is a variation of the simple Homestead house. The Homestead house (the name is modern) was the most common form used for farmhouses and simple wood-frame worker’s housing. This house differs from late 19th-century versions of the type (of which many can be seen on 700 block of South Beech Street), in that the street-facing projection and gable comprise the smaller wing, and the projection is rectangular instead of polygonal, and has no corner brackets. The rough stone foundation indicates that this houses was probably built no later than the early years of the 20th century.
