The fine house retains most of its late 19^th-century features including decorative corner brackets and window frames. The original side two-story porch would have occupied the same area as the present one, but would have had more decorative balustrades, probably in the spindle style. When first occupied the house would have been painted in one or more rich colors; perhaps in shades of green or brown.
