The Old Neighborhood Part I

The style of this house is transitional, between the cube-like Italianate houses of the mid-19th-century and the more lively houses, with projecting bays and other elements of the 1870s and afterward.  The posts of the porch are similar to those at #558.  The asbestos shingle siding probably cover or replaced original clapboards.
